OPI: My Address is "Hollywood"

************Happy 2012 people!************

I'm wearing My Address is "Hollywood" for the first day of 2012 and I'm loving it to bits!

I have many pinks but I still like this a lot! I would say it's like a barbie pink but not too bright to the point where it makes my skin looks tanned.

So girly! Me likey!
Oh and btw, this baby here is from OPI's Touring America Collection.

Smooth application. Dries pretty fast. Two coats is sufficient if you're not too picky.
For some reason, I was extra picky, so I've done three.
And topcoat is a must if you want a glossy and shiny finish.

Shimmers!
Sad that you can only see them under natural light and when your eyes are an inch away from your nails.

And it totally matches my new iPhone cover!
Hello Kitty! *hearts*

OPI: Color to Diner For. Red Screams Christmas!

Ever since I painted Are We There Yet? on my nails, I'm drawn to the subtle shimmers of it. Hence, I decided to get the other two 'siblings' of it from the Touring America Collection. If you don't already know yet, I've got both Color to Diner For and My Address is "Hollywood" from secretalluree.com for only RM33 each!

Oh! Before I forget, regarding the double coding issue on my previous haul post, Secret Allure had already clarified it here! So, no worries girls, they are selling genuine OPIs!

Color to Diner For is a warm red. So far, the only red I have is Big Apple Red, but that's a bright one. Hence, I consider this a justified addition to my collection. (Justification: checked!) :)

Pretty shimmers!

Red base with gold micro shimmers, perfect combo for Christmas!

Love!

The formula is quite watery. But that doesn't really bother me much.

Opaque in two coats. Without a top coat, it actually looks kinda dull.
Hence, topcoat is a must!

Overall, a good red. Need I say more?

Nail Polish? Never Enough! NEVER!!

Just when I thought that I should stop buying nail polishes, well at least for awhile, I stumbled across this online store that sells branded nail polishes like OPI, Essie, China Glaze etc at a much lower price. Lower? Yes, like seriously, MUCH LOWER! How much lower? RM33 per bottle of OPI! *gasp!* How to resist?! (FYI, OPI are being retailed at RM59 per bottle at most nail salons or authorized stockists.)

The first thing that came to my mind was that the products might be fakes! And what was worse is that there wasn't any note or FAQ stating that their products are genuine. (Well, maybe they did, but I couldn't seem to find it -,-) However, on their site, I found these 'Reviews' and the 'Testimonials' columns with a list of blogs or customers reviewing their shopping experiences. I randomly clicked on a few blogs. The feedbacks are pretty positive and many have recommended them.

I couldn't help it when the devil in my head kept whispering: buy..buy..BUYYYY!!

And I gave in.

Left to Right:
So Many Clowns...So Little Time,
Color to Diner For,
My Address is "Hollywood"

I've 'inspected' all three of them and I found that My Address is "Hollywood" to be a bit different. It has two different codes on the bottom label.

The top code matches the code on the side of the bottle, but I don't know why is there a second code?
Hurms, anyone have any idea?

Other than that, My Address is "Hollywood" along with the two other bottles passed the general 'original OPI' test. Don't know if that's the name for it. But it's just a list of a things to look out to ensure that your bottle of OPI is original.

Anyway, since the items I've ordered are listed under the "Ready Stocks", I received my parcel exactly two days after I placed my order. Logically speaking, I would have expected them to process and get my items shipped out this soon. But I'm still happy when I receive it this soon. If that makes any sense at all -.-.

OMG, after blabbering for so long, I still haven't tell you what store this is! It's Secret Alluree!
www.secretalluree.com

This is my first time buying nail polishes from them. Haven't participated in their spree event yet. Will definitely do so, after confirming that the double coding thingy does not mean a fake OPI. fingers crossed. Pray. Pray.

But for now, all I can say is:
  • Great service, they reply my email within 24 hours.
  • Great price. RM33 per bottle!!!
  • Wide range of brands
  • My items were being bubble wrapped tightly
  • Efficient
I can't wait but to try them on and this is the first one that I've picked out.

So Many Clowns...So Little Time

I actually lol'ed at the name of this

It is an off white with a hint of pink.

Looks sweet. I would imagine this to be on a bride.

It is work appropriate too.

I've used 3 coats and the whites of my nails are still peeking out. But not that obvious though.
Like most OPIs, the application was easy. Thanks to their Pro-Wide brush.

I wouldn't say I love this color. It's kinda a 50-50 thing for me. Sometimes when I look at it, I think 'Mmm this is nice!', but sometimes I find it to be quite a boring color. Hmm, what do you think?

OPI: Are We There Yet?

Are We There Yet? is one of the many pretty shades from OPI's Touring America Fall 2011 Collection.

For some reasons, I'm very into coral shades these days and I love how this looks on my nails! It's very subtle and gentle, not too orangey. I'll describe it as a corally-salmoney-peachy-melon color.

Besides that, I love the golden shimmers in it! Sad that it'll only shows up under sunlight. For those who love the shimmers as much as I do, try finishing this with a translucent based shimmer nail polish.

Application was a bliss, like butter melting on your nails! I've done two coats and as you can see, the whites on my nails are still quite visible. So, if you're really particular, you should go for three.

Heart skips a beat!

OPI: Big Apple Red

Big Apple Red!
Thumbs up to my Hello Kitty Wallpaper :P

Big Apple Red! Frankly speaking, I was drawn to this colour by its name! For some reasons, it kinda convinced me that it is a good red...and trust me, IT IS A GOOD RED! But if you're not a fan of bright red, this might not be your thing. This baby has been with me for over two years(?), and unconsciously it has become one of my most worn nail polishes!

This nail polish should receive a MEGASHINE award! Checkout the picture above:
WITHOUT top coat!

And I love how flattering it looks against my skin.

No problems with the application or formula. Easy to apply and opaque in two coats.
Doesn't takes too long to dry.

The only downside is this:

It stains the brush of my topcoat.
Unless you are very particular, this won't be a biggie as the colour will sorta 'melt' away when you place the brush back into its bottle. So don't worry, it won't spoil your topcoat.
*This colour is soooooo gorgeous! Please don't reject it just because of that!*

This colour is sexy and classy. I love it on both my toes and fingers! *hearts lots lots*

Charlotte

OPI: Tickle my France-y

****Apologies to all my OPI babies****

I've been using China Glazes lately, so much that I almost forgotten about all my OPIs. As I was looking through my stash of nail polishes, thinking which colour should I wear, this pretty little baby here was screaming for my attention.

Tickle My France-y is from the La Collection De France for Fall 2008. Though it has been 3 years since its debut, it is still the favourite of many people, including myself.

I would describe TMF as a dusty rose colour: nudish-pinkish-mauve. I find this colour very sweet, elegant, feminine and romantic. It is definitely not the average nude colour you see everyday. There is just something very special about it.

This colour is also work appropriate, feel free to wear this to work everyday or to attend job interviews. It gives you a put together, polished look.

The only complaint I have is that the formula is kinda watery. Hence, you need about 3-4coats to get it opaque. BUT I love it so much that I stick with that issue.
