[FOOD] Sichuan House

*****This place is only for people with high tolerance for spicy food!*****

I'm a big fan of spicy food and been wanting to try this place for the longest time ever! Finally decided to pay a visit last week.

Eggplant

Fish

Beef Skewers

Price : Reasonable (plus minus 15bucks per person)
Food : Awesome Awesome Awesome (x10000 if you love spicy food as much as I do)
Environment : Normal, like most of the other Chinese restaurants in Melbourne
Service : Normal
Portion : Just nice

I've only tried the three dishes shown above, I'd have to say that they were all yummilicious! Spicyness is just a plus point for me, their food are also very flavourful, creating a perfect balance!

I'm definitely going to be one of their many return customers! There's so many things I wanted to try while browsing through their menu, especially the Spicy Crabs! slurrrpppsss...

Love,
Charlotte the Glutton

P/S: Sorry, I can't really remember the name of the dishes this time. :(

[FOOD] Max Brenner

Yours truly here have sweet TEETH! :D I've heard so many great things about this place called Max Brenner. Everyone said that it's a MUST-GO-PLACE especially when you're a chocolate lover! and I couldn't agree more on that..

Belgian Waffle with Vanilla Ice Cream

Chocolate Dip

Chocolate with Crunchy Waffle Balls

American Marshmallow Chocolate

And that is how you hold a hugmug! It's a bliss to hold it in your hand especially during winter!
That's my sister, Alyna btw! I hope she doesn't mind me putting her face up on my blog. *teehee*

Belgian Waffles and Chocolate Dips are my all-time favourites! I'm more of a coffee person than a chocolate person, but during winter it does feels nice to hug your hands around that hugmug :D

If you were wondering about the price and other varieties of dessert they offer, do check out their menu here!

[FOOD] Hanaichi

Curry Katsu Don
Kay's Chicken
If you happen to be at QV square during lunch hour, you'll definitely notice that there's always a lot of people at Hanaichi. The first time I walked passed it, I thought it to be just another Japanese Restaurant like DonDon (which I'm not a fan of). It looks cheap, messy and it is always very noisy. My first experience with Hanaichi was a take-away brought back by my house mates. It was Kay's Chicken and I was quite surprised at how yummy it tasted! The chicken is crispy and I love the tartar sauce too!

After Kay's Chicken, I was tempted to try other dishes from Hanaichi *drools*. I almost walked away during my first visit to Hanaichi, the queue was so long! But in no time, it was already my turn to order! I looked around and saw people eating Curry Don, hence I followed suit. It turned out to be the best Japanese Curry I've ever tasted! The curry is not as sweet as normal japanese curry and the gravy is thick enough. Like Kay's Chicken, the chicken nuggets are very crispy. Curry Don comes in chicken and pork. I've tried both, and I prefer chicken over pork :)

This is one of my favourite place because:
  • It is cheap! The price of a regular dish is about 6-7dollars; a large dish is about 8-9dollars.
  • The portion is filling. I am satisfied with a regular sized :)
  • It is fast! Even though the queue is long, but you don't have to wait 30mins for your food to be served.
  • There isn't a wide varieties of choices which is great for an indecisive person like moi!
  • They serve Curry Katsu Don! *yesh I like this better than Kay's Chicken!*

[FOOD] East2West: Roast of the Day

If you don't already know that I love eating, I'm here to say it again: I love food and I never say no to food hunting! And since sharing is caring, I am going to share my food journey in this blog. Here goes:

Are you someone who loves food that are peng, leng, jeng (cheap and yummy)? If the answer is yes, you'll love this:

Roast of the Day: Beef with 3 sides
(Mashed Potato, Roast Potato, Vegetables)

Roast of the Day: Chicken with 2 sides
(Mashed Potato & Roast Potato)

East2West is located inside Crown Casino. So, if you're not of age, you can't go in! I've been there twice so far, both times for the Roast of the Day! Let me tell you why I like it:
  • It is cheap!
  • The mashed potato is really awesome!
  • It is very filling!
The Roast of the Days are different everyday. I had beef on my first visit and chicken during the second. Both of them are cooked just nice. Roast of the Days are served right from the counter, hence you can't decide how you want your meat to be cooked. I guess that is why the beef are being cooked that way; not too raw, not overly cooked. There are 3 side-dishes for you to choose from: Roasted Potato, Mashed Potato and Vegetables. My favourite will be the mashed! yummy yummy yummy!! On the other hand, the roasted potatoes are normal, nothing special about it. I'm not a fan of cauliflowers and broccolis, hence if I can only choose 2 sides, it'll definitely be potatoes! *yeah yeah I know, CARBS!!*

From the pictures above, you can see that the beef came with 3 sides, but the chicken, only 2. On my first visit to East2West, the lady at the counter asked me if I wanted all 3 sides so I automatically assumed that the Roast of the Day has 3 sides. During my second visit, I asked for 3 sides but to my surprise, the lady told me I can only choose 2! :( My conclusion is: the portion served for the chicken is bigger than the beef, hence lesser sides; either that or, it depends on your luck whether the counter lady is generous enough.

Overall, it is a good meal. No harm trying when it's just AUD8.50 right?
